Thank you so much Sally!!! We’ve all learned so much so far and know there is much more to come. It is important for me to continue to document his journey for all of us to reflect back on when the time comes, more so for our son. This had been hard on him, as we all understand. He and Bubba have such a bond that can’t be broken. Bubba lives to work and take care of him. He certainly has adapted to his new life just being a goofy playful puppers. He is loved by all who has the honors of meeting him.
It’s people like you and this amazing website that support and encourage us while we journey through Bubba’s life as a tripawds. Thank you for always being so amazingly upbeat and positively encouraging. I just love your energy you bring to every new and, dare I say it, old members experiences. Hugs from Bubba
Isn’t his smile the BEST THING ever! My Gerry responded so hapiply to his amputation and medicines, because I think he Finally wasn’t in as much pain as he had been hiding from me beforehand. Chemo actually made him act peppier than usual, and I took everything in stride; this is my advice to you. Enjoy each and all moments when you can TELL that Bubba isn’t in pain, and is in love with all of YOU! I love his sports jersey!
Yes, his smile is the absolute best. One day at a time and yes, we are all embracing each day and enjoy every minute of each day. We’ve opted not do chemo or radiation . With considerable discussions with our vet and care team, we all agreed that we would not to go that route.
We were told to bring him home and just make every day a happy day for him. That’s exactly what we are doing. He is no longer in pain and is thriving for now. Happy dog-Happy life….
Bubba is our amazingly courageous pawgrandboy. He is our son's service dog and he has spent the seven years of his life taking care of our son. A Marine Veteran who suffered seizures early in his career in the Marines. It is with great relief that his seizures have since resolved. Fast forward, Bubba spends a great deal of his time with my husband and I. He has brought so much joy to us since loosing our beloved Yorkie to cancer last year. I was so heart broken when he was diagnosed with Oseosarcoma Dec. 15th. When the vet told us of the pain he was in and that amputation would free him from this pain we made the decision to focus on quality vs quantity of life. He underwent amputation of his left from leg December 19th. He is eight days post surgery and doing well. Uncertain of how long we have to spend with him, we are committed to make his days on this earth the happiest ever.
